Band
No.1---David Holt and the Lightning Bolts. David is an internationally
known storyteller and banjo player, as well as a mean slide picker.
He blows harmonica, slaps himself silly doing hambone rhythms, and has
won four Grammys, including one for "Legacy" with Doc
Watson. I play a small kit. It's a lot less to carry around! In 2002,
we went to Switzerland to play in, of all things, a country music festival!
You haven't seen anything until you've seen Swiss cowboys boot-scooting
and yodelling at the same time!
Band No. 2--Tennessee Hollow. This is an Americana/Roots band--Two young guys from Boston and a bass player from Hendersonville, via upstate New York. Some really cool influences, such as Little Feat, The Band, Led Zeppelin, and Blind Willie McTell all thrown together make this a fun band to play with. Dave Dribbon, Chris Budro, and Scott Benson. My nickname in the band is "Grandpa Fireball."
Band
No.3--The Diaz Brothers. The Diaz Brothers--Angelo Santa Maria, Joel Schantz, Stephen Cohen (relation in band only!), and myself have started a quartet playing what we call "comfort music", covers of some of our favorite music from the last thirty years up to the present. Mercenary, perhaps, but a lot of fun! Come see the Bros. and you'll most likely hear something that you like and haven't heard someone play live in awhile. The Diaz Brothers are currently on an extended hiatus.
Here you
will find a schedule of where I will be playing, when, and with whom.
And to all the people who keep telling me that they don't know when
I'm playing, I better start seeing you at some of these gigs!
